Contemporary announcement cards.

I liked the modern feel of these characters and thought they worked well to create a selection of announcement cards.

Make some cards 4 x 3 inches.

Fold a piece of paper in half and cut out a band as seen

Slip a blank card into the piece of paper, lay a mask over and begin to add colour with Distress Inks.

This creates a lovely neat band across the card.

Repeat this with a selection of masks and colours of inks over all the cards.

colour the sheet of figures with Black Soot Distress Ink

Glue the figures onto the cards into various combinations as seen and depending on the occasion. Add details with black pen.

Make envelopes for the cards with the Envelope Punch Board.

Oh wow Neil, this is brilliant!!!!! clap I would never have known quite what to do with the little people but I love what you have done!
Karen you didn't miss too much not being at the show! It was very quiet, half the stands fabric, wools etc and not that many visitors looking around. Never seen it like that before!
Dawn, have you sent me yours cos I don't think I have got it!!

I was all twitchy over the weekend because I wasn't at the show ptdr !!!! A lot of people have said how quiet it was, shame really. There were a LOT of textile stands last year too and I did wonder how it would be this year. Lovely for me to nose around because I like that stuff too but a real pain for some like Sandy who is there to look at craft stuff. Hope she saw some inspiring stuff wink x

From Dawn,

Cut two pieces of card five and a half inch square.

From the pattern papers, cut four rectangles to measure 6 inch x 2 inch each. Cut each rectangle in half on the diagonal. Ink the edges with Dusty concord distress ink.

Arrange pattern papers onto the square card, like rays of sun. Stick down and trim any over hang.
Then Punch or die cut scallop circle from the bottom corner of it.

Punch or die cut another part scallop circle from pattern paper.

Stick your first square with papers on top of the other square you cut at the start. Then slot in the scallop circle of pattern paper into the bottom corner, sticking to the base piece of card. I added dots of silver pen to the pattern of this piece. Ink around edges of square. Matt onto silver card. Then Stick to base card.

Next, glue three of the Tando Butterflies onto Pattern paper. Leave to dry. Then cut around edges of butterfly and sand edges to smooth.
Edge the butterflies with silver pen and decorate with clear gems.
Glue these onto your card and then glue on a few buttons and clear gems.

For the sentiment. Colour a piece of card with the dusty concord ink, stamp sentiment in black from Telegraph road set. Cut into a banner shape. Edge with silver pen. Curl piece slightly. Attach to card by sticking flat at left side and raised with double layer of foam pads in centre.
Edge entire card with black ink.

Products used.
Tando Creative mini Butterflies
Prima 12x12 Wishful Thinking pattern papers
Kaisercraft Telegraph Road stamps
Dusty Concord Distress Ink
Black memento ink
Square card blank, white
Silver mirror card
White card
Buttons
Gems
Silver pen

Worry is in my nature apologies. I've made it for Tando challenge too. I've written my post ready but won't let me schedule it so I'll have to publish it myself. I've been entering a popular Friday challenge to get people to my blog hopefully to see my other stuff too concerning craft barn x
