I'm going to get Kay to let us use one of her projects for this week too. She had some beautiful samples at the demo today!

Re: Mar 16th - Brusho's - Deadline Mar 8th
Well, what can I say, Brushos were and were not what I was expecting .
Yes I knew they were powder but I still got a bit of a surprise once I began to play/work.......
You see, in my mind I thought, okay, let's just start off slowly and use a very little powder to create a lovely delicate, pastel base.
Just a little powder like this onto a sheet of watercolour card.
Then a spritz of water to get it flowing.
Oooh, that's rather bright, add more water.......ooops, too much water, add another sheet of watercolour card to the top! Before I knew it I had two sheets of vibrantly coloured card.
By now I had given up on the delicate pastel idea and just went with the direction I was heading in. I added some more yellow powder and water.
Sprinkled some salt onto the wet card and left to dry.
When it was dry I wiped off the salt and trimmed the card into six 6cm wide strips. Marking the centre line in pen.
I had the same size white card scraps left over from a previous book I made so each strip of card was stacked on top of 10 pieces of white card and stapled at the centre.
These were folded at the centre line. Each book had a sentiment stamped onto it. The staples were covered with a strip of tape to create a spine and each book was just simply stamped with images to finish.
6 delightful sketchbooks.

So what did you think Neil, did you like them?? I like what you've done. I'm really liking what you can do with them and the colours are really vibrant.
Thank you for your project! Love it

Yes, I do like them Jane. Just need more time (which I don't have) to get to grips with them properly. But I love the colours and the intensity.

From Pauline
I'm gonna scream!!
I've just typed out all the instructions and product list on the forum and because of pop ups and problems I've just lost it all. I will have to do it here I'm sorry.
Here goes
Stick two sheets of watercolour paper together with redline tape
I put three or four holes in the top of the lid of my Brushos and use them like pepper pots
Spray the paper with a water mister and pepper the first colour onto the paper
Add more water and more colours till it is how you want it to be. Allow to dry naturally if you can but it can be heat set
Add redline tape to the four edges of the front and back of the sketchbook and the three outer edges of the inside of the covers
Remove the outer tape covers and lay the book down onto the reverse of the paper. Roll the book over to stick the other side down.
Trim the excess paper and mitre the corners
Remove one Side of the inside cover and stick the paper down. Repeat for the other cover.
Remove the inside tape covers and fold the cover down onto the paper again repeat the other side
Stamp the chosen designs onto the front cover
Products used
Sketchbook
Brushos - Sea Green, Turqouise, Lime green, Ultra Marine
Kaisercraft Stamps - film Edges, Arty, Diamonds
PaperArtsy Hot Pick HP1204EZ
VERSAFINE Onyx black ink
Red line tape
Watercolour paper
Water mister

Re: Mar 16th - Brusho's - Deadline Mar 8th
OK THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOLKS..............
To allow us to catch up with ourselves and Dawn is not very well, I have decided to leave Brusho's until next week. I am a bit behind anyway with not being too good myself. I apologise now for any inconvenience this may cause....but hopefully it won't!!
I am going back through the blog and picking a post from each of you to repeat!
Neil - I have picked your fabulous 'Home is where the Heart is', if that is ok and that will go out tomorrow, Thursday.
Pauline and Dawn yours will follow, Dawn on Friday and Pauline Saturday, just need to decide which ones I'm going to use.
This way we will hopefully catch up a bit as I really need to know what your projects are and what products you are using at least a week before the posts go out!
Hope this is alright with you all

Fully understand and ok with me Jane
I'll do my best to get ahead but I've been a bit snowed under with samples for workshops and demos which have to come first.

Re: Mar 16th - Brusho's - Deadline Mar 8th
Well I'm on the mend finally Pauline.....been a rotten couple of weeks!!
Ok, Saturday Pauline, I'm going to post your lovely Interference Flowers. They are so pretty!!
Dawn, I'm sorry, having real problems with yours....because you would have emailed your photos to Sharon, I cannot find them anywhere other than in PDF form and I can't use them. Won't let me do anything. Really need to get you posting on here, it will be so much easier!
So I am going to have to miss you this week, I'm so sorry but I just can't see any other way round it! I shall try and find one of my old projects to post instead. I'll email you incase you don't see this!!
